My bodies

Like Russian dolls, each inside

Each other: as I move my legs I see

Five-year-old flesh, tiny fingers under

My thickening hands, a bare bony chest

Beneath softening breasts; when my body

Can no longer move, moored to chairs

Or a bed, will I feel the body I have now

Under that body—and long for it?
